Nestled in Geraldton, Western Australia, Misselthwaite is a dedicated, family-run cattery born from a deep-seated love for the "Teddy Bear" of the feline world. We are captivated by the classic British Shorthair—the chunky proportions, those iconic round faces, the bright orange eyes and the famously laid-back temperament that makes them such wonderful additions to the family.

Our Philosophy and History

Ethical Breeding

At Misselthwaite, we are passionate about upholding the highest standards of the breed. Whether you are looking for a distinguished show prospect or a cherished family pet, our goal is to produce kittens that are as healthy and well-adjusted as they are

beautiful.

Colour, Temperament and Health Focus

Our breeding program gives us an array of colours including blue, cream, lilac, black and for the first time this year, chocolate. Our cats give us solids, bi-colours, vans as well as tortieshell. We focus on the classic, sturdy build & plush coat that defines the breed.

Well-Socialized

We believe socialization is key to a happy cat. Our kittens are raised in a loving home environment to ensure they develop the calm, affectionate nature the British Shorthair is well know for.

Since 2022, Misselthwaite Cattery has been dedicated to the breeding of the British Shorthair breed. We believe that every kitten deserves a life of health, happiness, and a loving home environment.
